SHIFT SUPPORTERS

SHIFT SUPPORTERS
1 June 2016 Carlo Timmerman

Things are starting to take shape. We, here at the EMS, have a vision of self-sufficiency by means of a green and durable working environment. To achieve this feat, we’re relying on benefactors, sponsors and volunteers that are willing to support and join us in making this a reality. For example, global warming is something we all have to face and we’re actively trying reducing our carbon footprint. This starts with clean and green energy and we have made a start on tackling this challenge!

In partnership with Green Battery, we’ve installed 4 brand new energy cells on the premises, backed up by a battery-pack to store and distribute the energy towards small electronic needs. Think about electric powered drills, a fridge and a coffee machine. Think about lighting to create the possibility to work in the dark. Think about the long term plan to expand on our inventory of electrical powered machinery to build the festivals and other events you know and love.

We came into contact with Green Battery because we share a lot of the philosophical viewpoints on how to work with our society and with nature. Mutual respect and valuation resulted in a partnership where both we and Green Battery will benefit from in the future.

Also, you might recall that we’ve had an event called NACHTWACHT at the club a while ago. Set up by Crisilde van den Assem, this event was something special all together. Classical music and techno tunes united to create a sound like nothing you’ve heard before. What happened next blew our minds! NACHTWACHT had decided that they wanted to donate part of the revenue towards our Shift! We appreciate it immensely and can’t wait for future events!

Another party that we’re glad to be calling our partner is Chris Garrit. His EMG Faktors are sponsoring us in various ways. The biggest contribution by them is the framework that we will use to build our club. More information on the project itself can be found here.

Chris Garrit also sponsored a giant beamer to use during our LOODSRAVE FESTIVAL. The festival, which took place on the 14th of May, was set up mostly as a fundraiser for the Part of the Shift. Chris installed his beamer in the Donation Square and proceeded to project tons of VJ-related images throughout the day and night. This gave the festival a tad bit more of awesomeness!

During the festival, we’ve had a tonne of other partners that have sponsored us through discounts and/or free use of materials. To sum them up:

  • We want to thank all of the DJ’s who are at the foundation of the rave and made this night completely unforgettable. You guys were awesome!
  • We were all in shock and awe by Stilletta Club Guy & Roni’s Poetic Disasters Club with their awesome stage performances!
  • Reality Outdoor made sure that we could get the word out about Loodsrave Festival and Paradigm Festival 2016 in a cool and effective way!
  • Illustratie 57’s Octa Drawing Factory for creating images of moments and people that will now last forever!
  • Sijperda provided us with many of the necessary facilities to create the groundwork for the Loodsrave Festival. Think about fences, pumptrucks and stairs.
  • Impérial Security have made us all feel safe once more! You’ve probably seen them before. They are our regular security guys during all of our events!
  • De Evenementen Organisator has been responsible for the entire production of the festival! We’d like to thank them for making sure the festival felt smooth from start to end!
  • GoudGoed Kringloop provided the necessary couches and seats to make the Chill-out area incredibly comfortable!
  • Showproducties made sure we had the best sounds and lights for the DJ’s to make the entire rave unforgettable!
  • DTL Laser made sure that all of the areas were lit up by LEDs to create a cozy and immersive experience wherever you went!
  • Venema Communicatie has blessed us with all of the cable management we needed to create a sufficient power grid to make sure we were never short on that!
  • Eventlockers provided us with enough lockers to make sure that everyone could stash their personal belongings away to ensure a care-free festival experience!
  • Finally, we want to thank Steenge Tentverhuur for setting up an entrance with a roof at the festival and making sure that the crew, security and guests were high and dry.

Lex Vesseur made sure to capture gratitude and appreciation in the photo where Piter Terpstra & Paul Grimmius accepted the donation check from NACHTWACHT.

The rest of the photos are a courtesy of Niels Knelis Meyer. The man himself sloshed his way through the building like a bonafide badass, shooting pictures like his life depended on it. You can see the results yourself in the gallery above
